A virtual assembly with Pete Mitchell
Every year, an athlete visits St Wilfrid’s to talk to the children about his/her training and achievements. This will continue this year as a virtual assembly.
Our virtual assembly will be with Pete Mitchell - a member of the Great Britain para-cycling team and medallist at Commonwealth, World and Paralympic level.
Pete will be talking to St Wilfrid’s, St Nicholas and three other schools; children have the opportunity to ask him questions. Your name and question could be part of the virtual assembly. If you would like to ask a question, please could you email your question to school by 1pm on Thursday 14th May – thank you.
You could research the life and sporting achievements of Pete. You may think about how Pete overcame barriers plus the skills and qualities needed to be successful. You could consider his training as an individual, away from support teams. You might wonder what Pete is doing now to stay safe and keep well -think about your own daily exercise or challenges.
